CICC close on Munich with double win over Royal Brussels

On Saturday 23 July, CICC Women hosted RBCC in the Bundesliga. After a delayed start of the first match due to rain, we won the toss and decided to bowl first in humid conditions and on a field which was still wet. RBCC managed to reach 96 runs before they were all out with one ball to spare from 20 overs. The wickets were shared between our bowlers plus two run outs. In reply, we got off to a good start and managed to reach the target in the 13th over with the loss of just two wickets.
RBCC won the toss for the second match and decided to bat first again. Their captain batted solidly for 35n.o. and we could only dismiss two other batsmen, so RBCC ended up at 120/2 after 20 overs. Again, we made a good start, racing along at 10runs per over. When two wickets fell quickly after each other, the run rate did drop but Asmita hung in there to support Sharmaine to bring us close to the finish. The winning run was hit by Denise and we got to the target in the 17th over.
