CICC women dodge the storms in Frankfurt to chalk up back-to-back wins

After winning the toss for the first match, we decided to bowl on a damp pifccw3tch. There were too many wides but otherwise we managed to contain Frankfurt fairly well until Anuradha Doddaballapur hit a quick-fire 24 runs off 16 balls to bring FCC to a respectable 121/2 after 20 overs. However, Monika and Sharmaine opened the batting for CICC and managed to overtake the score in the 17th over without losing their wickets.

Unfortunately, there was a huge hailstorm during the lunch break and for a long time it looked as if we would be unable to play the second match as there were big puddles on the outfield. However, thanks to some hard work by both teams – which would have made any groundsman very proud, it was possible to start the second match but reduced to 12 overs per side. Again, Monika and Sharmaine opened, this time even more agressively. Two wickets fell but this had no negative effect as CICC finished on 101/2 after 12 overs, with Sharmaine unbeaten with excellent 41 runs. FCC opened with their two best players but feeling the pressure, Anuradha Doddaballapur went for a shot that wasn’t on and was bowled by Sharmaine. With the most dangerous player gone, some good
